More information on our Nordic woollens

What types of wool are there and what are their characteristics? How do you care for them and wash them? You can find the answers to these questions here!

The different types of wool

From simple sheep's wool to the finest cashmere, the varieties of wool are numerous, some of them being produced from intensive breeding operations at a rate of millions of tons per year, while others, rarer, come from little-known animals found only in certain parts of the world. Here is a quick overview of the main known knits, their specificities and origins.

How to wash your jumper

Wool is on the whole more sensitive than other fibres, which is why it requires a certain care. To avoid felting, and depending on the weave and the type of wool, you can either put it in the washing machine and use the "wool" programme, at 30° or 40°, or the "delicate" programme, or wash your wool by hand. You will find all the care instructions on the label sewn into the seam of the garment.
